RappCentral Home

Welcome to Rappahannock Central in the River District in Sperryville, VA.   Rappahannock Central is a beautifully restored apple packing house from the 1930s with touches of  modern architecture like stainless steel railings, corrugated steel and ultra-chic European light fixtures.   It currently houses the River District Arts, the Confluent Gallery and the Middle Street Gallery.  Next door are the popular Copper Fox Whiskey distillery and a large antique warehouse, the "Copperfox Antiques".   All within an easy driving distance from Washington DC, Charlottesville and Richmond and good for a day of enjoyment in the country.

River District Arts, more popularly known as the “Rappahannock Torpedo Factory”, an artist collective of close to 20 resident artists and close to 100 associate artists from Rappahannock and surrounding counties.   Visit their studios to see the artists at work, talk to them and buy a piece of art to take home.  Don't forget to visit the Confluent Gallery which features regularly changing exhibitions of local, national and international artists.

Café Indigo; The Cafe is currently closed and in search of a new operator/owner.

The Middle Street Gallery relocated to Rappahannock Central in the Fall of 2011 and is a non-profit artists' cooperative with some 20 local and regional members.  Many have exhibited nationally as well as locally. The gallery's shows, which change monthly, include exhibitions by individual members as well as group shows that include others in the arts community.

We invite you to stop in on weekends to view the art and chat with the artists. Some artists work while at the gallery, and the public is welcome to watch.
